Classes Built Around the Heat

Get closer to molten glass than you ever thought you would. Every class at Sweaty Glass is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and guided by an artist who knows how to keep things safe while still letting you feel the real process.

Make a Glass Flower - $50

About 20-30 minutes

Pull, twist, and shape molten glass into a colorful flower you can keep forever.

In this quick, hands-on session, you’ll learn how to shape molten glass into a flower stem and petals. Working with our artist, you’ll pick your color palette and help with the pulls and twists that give each flower its personality.

Memorial Glass - $350 - $450

Honor a person or pet who meant everything. Our Memorial Glass pieces are designed as glass  inspired forms, carefully crafted in the hot shop.

You can choose to have our artist create the piece for you, or schedule an in-person, hands-on session where you help choose colors and participate in the making process.

If you wish, a small amount of cremains can be incorporated into the glass (optional, based on studio policy).

Couples Glassblowing Class (Date Night)

A fiery date night for two. Choose your colors and work side-by-side with our artist to create a custom drinking glass, bud vase, or paperweight.

Turn date night into molten-glass chaos in the best possible way. In this guided couples class, you and your partner step into the hot shop, pick your colors, and work with our artist to shape glowing glass into a finished piece.

You’ll see how glass moves, learn what the tools do, and feel the heat of the furnace while we keep things safe and controlled. Each person will design and help create one finished piece to keep.

No experience needed—just closed-toe shoes and a willingness to get a little sweaty.

Group Glassblowing Class (4–5 Guests)

Bring your crew to the hot shop. A guided group experience for 4–5 people, perfect for friends, family, or small team outings.

Share the heat with your favorite people. This group class is designed for 4–5 guests who want to experience glassblowing together. You’ll get a studio tour, a safety and process overview, and then each person will work with our artist to design and help create a custom piece.

Typical project options include drinking glasses, bud vases, or paperweights. We’ll guide everyone through color choices and the making process so each person leaves with something unique.

Glass Science for Kids (Monthly Event)

A kid-friendly deep dive into the science of glass, with demos, experiments, and a take-home glass flower.

Part science lab, part art class. Glass Science for Kids is a monthly event where we pull back the curtain on how glass works. Kids will see live demos, learn what happens when sand turns to glass, and explore color, heat, and motion in a safe, supervised setting.

Each child helps with parts of the process appropriate for their age and takes home a glass flower made in the studio.

  • Includes: demos, Q&A, and one glass flower per child

Glassblowing Lessons – Ongoing Training

Start with a 3-hour intro lesson, then keep going with hourly training as you build your skills in the hot shop.

If you’re serious about learning glassblowing, this is where to start. Your first lesson is a longer, three-hour session that covers safety, basic gathers, shaping, and simple forms.

After that, you can book additional lessons by the hour to keep progressing—working on cups, forms, or whatever skills you want to focus on.

Pricing:

  • First lesson (approx. 3 hours): $300
  • Additional lessons: $85 per hour

Membership $99/mo

For people who can’t stay out of the hot shop. The Sweaty Glass Membership gives you a mix of classes, exclusive objects, and studio perks over an entire year.

Price: $1,200 per year

Membership Includes:

  • 1 couples night OR two one-on-one classes
  • 1 pumpkin class
  • 1 ornament class
  • 1 slumping and fusing class
  • Object of the Month – 1 unique glass object each month

Lampworking Bead Class - $85

Sit at the torch and learn how to make your own glass beads using lampworking techniques.

In this focused torch-based class, you’ll learn the basics of lampworking: how to safely work at the torch, heat and shape glass rods, and form beads on mandrels. You’ll practice making simple round beads and explore dots or basic patterns as time allows.

Beads can be used later in jewelry or kept as small keepsakes.

Glass Slumping & Fusing Class - $150

Design and assemble a flat glass piece, then let the kiln do the magic. Learn basic fusing and slumping techniques.

Long Description:
This kiln-based class shifts the focus away from the furnace and onto design. You’ll arrange sheet glass, frit, and stringers to create a plate, small tray, or similar project. We’ll go over basic design principles, glass compatibility, and how the kiln firing schedule turns your design into a finished piece.

After firing, your piece may be slumped into a mold to give it shape.

Shop Rental

Already comfortable in the hot shop and just need a place to work? Rent the Sweaty Glass studio by the hour.

Pricing:

  • Base price: $125 per hour (studio + basic equipment)
  • Color glass: Bring your own, or add $25 per hour for studio color.

What's Included:

  • Use of furnace, reheats, and bench
  • Shared use of standard hand tools
  • Access to annealers within our firing schedule

What's Not Included:

  • No lessons or instruction
  • No assistants provided
  • No major equipment adjustments without prior approval

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated prior glassblowing experience
  • Studio orientation and safety walk-through
  • Signed studio agreement and waiver
